GPO Membership Development Specialist

Join a collaborative, highly efficient, and customer-centric group purchasing organization (GPO) Operations team to support our physician practice members and biopharmaceutical manufacturer partners. The Membership Development Specialist is a vital contributor to this team.

Reporting to the VP of Membership and Implementation Operations, the Membership Development Specialist will coordinate and plan member enrollment and maintenance to ensure the needs of GPO members and partners are met. With minimal supervision, the Membership Development Specialist understands physician clinics and other industry categories, maintains and enhances internal processes, and ensures a streamlined customer experience for members and pharmaceutical partners. To be successful, the Membership Specialist must meet tight deadlines with high accuracy and autonomy, develop a comprehensive understanding of GPO membership mechanics and details, and coordinate effectively across departments and businesses.

What You'll Do

  • Work with members to ensure a smooth process.
  • Compile complex and customized paperwork packets per member needs.
  • Coordinate member journey from onboarding to membership maintenance – including managing member discovery, member validation, member creation, member master data, and ongoing daily needs.
  • Serve as the sole point of member contact for daily maintenance, including address changes, identifier changes, physician rosters, etc.
  • Coordinate assignment of operational work to responsible stakeholders within the business and ensure follow-through.
  • Manage process flows to include and collaborate with multi-stakeholder business units, identify efficiency gaps, and proactively implement solutions to address them.
  • Manage complex, high-needs specialty customers with specific needs.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain opportunities for Member Communications, including communication templates.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with affiliated business units and external partners, including distribution organizations, to ensure a seamless member experience.
  • Input / manage data and create reports within multiple software systems, including Salesforce, SAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience organizing verification and onboarding of new customers.
  • Knowledge of GPO and sales operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and independently.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, prioritizing, and negotiating skills to deliver results with a variable workload and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as an active participant in a team environment.
  • Intermediate- to advanced-level spreadsheet skills and proficiency in other office-related applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats with customers, employees, and vendors at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Experience working in Salesforce, SAP, and project management software (e.g., Tallyfy, Asana).
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate across teams and businesses.
  • Must be a quick learner, curious thinker, and willing to develop skills and abilities to meet new challenges and tasks.  

 Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field – or equivalent work experience. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Effectively perform in a remote work setting
  • General office environment
  • Travel up to 10-15%
