About this Opportunity
AllyGPO is seeking a highly experienced Clinical Pharmacist to serve as a strategic advisor to member oncology and specialty practices. In this role, you will provide high-level clinical, operational, and contracting guidance to help practices optimize drug acquisition strategies, improve financial performance, and ensure appropriate, evidence-based use of specialty and oncology therapies.
The Clinical Pharmacy Advisor (CPA) will act as a trusted thought partner to practice leadership, helping translate complex drug pricing, reimbursement, and market access dynamics into clear, actionable strategy. This role is advisory in nature, focusing on influence, insight, and optimization rather than transactional execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Drug Contracting Advisory
- Advise practices on optimal drug contracting structures with a strong emphasis on oral oncolytic products, pricing models, and GPO purchasing strategies.
- Provide expert interpretation of drug cost, reimbursement, and margin dynamics at the practice level.
- Guide decision-making around manufacturer contracts, distribution channels, and specialty pharmacy relationships.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance through improved acquisition strategy alignment.
Clinical & Operational Advisory Support
- Serve as a clinical advisor to physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and administrators.
- Provide evidence-based guidance on oncology and specialty therapy selection, integrating clinical and financial considerations.
- Advise practices on alignment of clinical pathways with reimbursement realities and operational efficiency.
- Support evaluation of high-cost injectable, infused, and specialty therapies from both clinical and economic perspectives.
Practice Strategy & Engagement
- Act as a senior advisor and thought partner to practice leadership teams.
- Interpret evolving payer, reimbursement, and drug pricing trends and their impact on practice sustainability.
- Conduct strategic advisory sessions (virtual and onsite) focused on drug acquisition optimization and margin improvement.
- Build long-term advisory relationships with key stakeholders across member practices.
Education & Market Intelligence
- Deliver strategic education on drug acquisition trends, biosimilars, oncology pipeline impacts, and specialty pharmacy shifts.
- Provide forward-looking insights on market access and reimbursement changes affecting practice economics.
- Equip practices with frameworks to evaluate new therapies and contracting opportunities.
Data Interpretation & Insight Generation
- Partner with internal teams to interpret drug utilization, reimbursement, and margin analytics.
- Translate complex datasets into strategic recommendations for practice leadership.
- Support benchmarking insights to help practices understand relative performance and opportunity areas.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred; oncology or ambulatory care experience strongly preferred.
- 7–10+ years of clinical pharmacy experience in oncology, specialty pharmacy, health system, or GPO environments.
- Deep understanding of drug/pharmacy reimbursement, buy-and-bill economics, and specialty distribution models.
- Proven ability to advise physician leadership and influence strategic decision-making.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Experience in oncology or high-cost specialty therapeutic areas strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Effectively perform in a remote work setting.
- General office environment.
- Travel up to 50%.
